History

Pick a famous ruler in history and write a short biography of him.  Did he have lowly beginnings like Joseph?

Mapwork – Goshen   What is it like topographically?

Study wagon travel, particularly the pioneers and their travel out west.

Look at chariot races, first as vehicles of war in Egypt, then look at chariot races in Rome.

Find out about some Egyptian landmarks, such as the pyramids or the sphinx.

Joseph instituted a 20% tax.  Look at legitimate and illegitamate uses of tax money according to scripture.  Historically, take a look at FDR’s New Deal.

Science

Genetic traits – What are some physical traits that run in your family?  Looking at old photos might help.

Study herbivores.  What special traits do they have such as: stomaches, teeth, etc.   Pick a herbivore to do a report on.  It need not be kosher.

What does the human body need to survive?  How long will it survive without those things?

Life Skills

Practice the all important art of grocery shopping.  Have your children help you with everything from meal planning and list making to comparison shopping and figuring out the price per ounce.

Character

Do a scripture study on gray hair.

Study forgiveness.
